1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using SnowDayScore ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Description of the service
SnowDayScoreprovides a Closure Risk Score based on public weather forecast data and general regional and district patterns. The Service is a planning tool intended to help you anticipate possible school closures. It is not an official source of school closure information, and it is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated on behalf of any school district, state, or provincial education authority.
3. No warranty; accuracy disclaimer
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose. A Closure Risk Score is not a guarantee of any outcome. Official closure decisions are made solely by individual school districts and may depend on factors this Service cannot access or predict. You should always confirm closures through your school district's official website, app, or communications
4. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SnowDayScore and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Service, including but not limited to missed school days, transportation decisions, work arrangements, or any other decision made based on a Closure Risk Score provided by the Service.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service, including by attempting to disrupt its normal operation, submitting false crowdsourced closure reports in bad faith, or using automated tools to scrape the Service beyond normal, reasonable use.
6. Crowdsourced closure reports
The "Report Today's Outcome" feature relies on user-submitted information and is not independently verified in real time. By submitting a report, you confirm you are doing so in good faith and to the best of your knowledge. Reported outcomes are used to build the Service's public accuracy record and should not be treated as an official closure announcement for any district.
We reserve the right to moderate, disregard, or remove any submitted report, including reports that appear duplicative, inconsistent with other reports for the same location and date, or submitted in bad faith. Where reports conflict, an official school district announcement will take priority when available. If no official source can be verified, the outcome may be marked as unverified or excluded from the published accuracy calculation, rather than resolved by majority vote or internal judgment alone. By submitting a report, you grant SnowDayScore permission to store, aggregate, publish, and otherwise use the submitted information (including in the public accuracy record) without further compensation or attribution to you
7. Intellectual property
Except as described below, the design, layout, original written content, and custom functionality of this site are the property of SnowDayScore and may not be copied or reproduced without permission, except as permitted by applicable law. This does not extend to: (a) publicly available weather data and any other third-party data, which remains the property of its respective source agency or provider; (b) any open-source software components used to build or operate the Service, which remain governed by their own applicable licenses; (c) any third-party licensed assets (such as fonts, icons, or libraries) used on the site, which remain governed by their own license terms; and (d) content submitted by users, including crowdsourced closure reports, which remains subject to the permissions described in section 6 above rather than being claimed as SnowDayScore's own original content.
8. Third-party links and data
The Service may reference or link to third-party sources, including government weather agencies and school district websites. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or availability of third-party sites.
9. Changes to the service and these terms
We may modify or discontinue the Service, in whole or in part, at any time. We may also update these Terms of Service; continued use of the Service after a changeconstitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles. If you are located in Canada, nothing in this clause limits any consumer protection rights under Canadian federal or provincial law that cannot be waived by agreement.
